The UK business community stands side by side with the government and the action it is taking in opposing Russian aggression and supporting Ukraine and its people, as they face terrible circumstances. The CBI is in constant dialogue with Government departments to best understand how we can support them and provide a crucial convening role with sectors who are affected.

We are working with our members to actively support the humanitarian consequences of the Ukrainian crisis. To date we have been coordinating activity between business, trade associations, the Ukrainian Embassy and across UK government departments. The Ukrainian Ambassador spoke with our DG and President on Monday and articulated that the best way that UK business could support was to help them win and to help them survive.

Many businesses have already made significant donations to relevant charities and offered their services to support Ukrainian citizens ranging from the provision of vital supplies through to logistics, digital infrastructure and cyber security.

We are appealing to our members and the wider business community to support the humanitarian efforts. Through your networks and members the collective reach is significant.

If members are asking where they should focus their efforts and donations we would recommend doing so via UnicefRedcross or DEC. If there are direct offers of material or practical support from firms, and we can help connect them with the authorities, please let me know.

We have put together expert-led resources to help you and your members manage the impact of the economic sanctions imposed against Russia, see below: Note that these are on our public site so can be shared with members
