The Asbestos Network Technical Working Group, chaired by Sam Lord, HM Principal Specialist Inspector (Occupational Hygiene Technical/Strategic Lead for Asbestos, Waste & Recycling and Metalworking Fluids), is currently developing guidance around the selection and usage of encapsulants and is seeking the views & experiences of ACAD members.

Encapsulation of ACM is classed as work with asbestos and is therefore subject to the requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.  This new guidance is being produced to identify the expected control measures for a variety of encapsulation methods, clarify notification requirements, and to ascertain the situations that are best suited to certain product types.

This is where the knowledge and experience of ACAD members will be able to help shape this new guidance and ensure its suitability.
