Build UK has published the results of this year’s SmartCard Audit which saw over 49,000 cards audited across 745 sites.

Just over half of cards were read using smart technology and the report sets out some of the challenges facing the industry, including the number of card schemes enabled with smart technology and the range of technology used.

The Construction Leadership Council has set a requirement for all card schemes carrying the CSCS logo to introduce smart technology by 2020 which is the most effective way of ensuring a card is genuine.
