TICA’s Apprentice of the Year is Aaron Doble who works for RDA Insulation
Apprentice of the Year Aaron took part in the 2019 Skills Test Final alongside six of his peers. They all completed a demanding practical assessment at the National Training Centre earlier in the year.
The finalists were chosen by the Training Officers and Teaching Staff at TICA. The scoring was based on their practical hand skills, their overall attitude to training and their behaviour and commitment at work.
Aaron Doble, commented “I have worked for RDA for over five years, during this time I have attended college at the Training Centre in Darlington, although it’s quite a distance to travel, from Devon, I loved my time in the training centre, particularly in the workshop. I couldn’t believe it when I was chosen as a finalist and got the opportunity to come back to TICA to complete the Skills Test, which was very challenging! I was shocked when my name was announced as the 2019 Apprentice of the Year! I am so proud of what I have achieved and it means so much to me and my company.”
Kevin Fleetham, Curriculum Delivery Manager said “Aaron stood out from the very beginning of his apprenticeship as being a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual. During his training here at TICA his skills, knowledge and behaviour improved at every visit. I’m very proud to see Aaron become the Apprentice of the Year as he thoroughly deserves it. Well done!”
