NVQ Competence Qualifications

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) are work-based qualifications which have been developed to recognise existing skills and knowledge to prove competence.  They also underpin all renewable ACAD Skill Cards.

NVQ is ideal for operatives, supervisors and contracts managers working within the industry who require an ACAD Skill Card and have experience but no formal qualifications.  They are open to all, regardless of age or previous learning or academic attainment. 

Evidence is gained by on-site assessment carried out by ACAD assessors to verify the learner’s abilities and build a portfolio of evidence.  On-site assessment usually consists of a mix of observation and discussion, completion of work diaries and witness testimony.  Upon NVQ achievement a worker steps up from being just trained to become Qualified to undertake their role, also can apoply for their Blue, Gold or Black ACAD Skill Card.

For operatives, ACAD offers the NVQ L2 Diploma in Removal of Removal of Hazardous Waste (Construction) – Licensed Asbestos.

For supervisors, ACAD offers the NVQ L3 Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision.

For contracts managers, ACAD offers the NVQ L4 Diploma in Asbestos Removal for Contract Managers
