The CSCS Alliance will have a strong presence at UK Construction Week between Tuesday May 2nd and Thursday May 4th, with both an exhibitor stand and the hosting of a breakout session at the Excel centre.
The CSCS alliance, made up from 38 different card schemes across UK construction, exists to act as a collective voice and advisor on matters relating to personnel registration and the verification of skills, training, and qualifications.
In April last year, working with the Construction Leadership Council, the Alliance launched the CSCS Smart Check app. The new app has radically improved the construction industry’s card checking procedures and site safety as, for the first time, all 2.1 million cards displaying the CSCS logo can be verified using a single app.
The CSCS Smart Check app forms part of the industry’s response to the findings of the Dame Judith Hackitt Review. It ensures people are suitably qualified, have the right training and experience for the role they are doing on site and crucially, the information held by the cards can be accessed by sites of all sizes to improve building quality and safety.
Graham Warren, ACAD Manager commented “The introduction of the ACAD Skill Card back in 2017 marked a huge turning point as the Asbestos Industry stepped up and took responsibility for administering the CSCS card scheme for our own industry. But it’s important the Asbestos industry works closely with all the other card schemes which is why I’ll be demonstrating ACAD’s support for the CSCS alliance by helping out on day two of the show, hope to see you there”.
