From 6 April, companies with 10 or more employees who cannot work from home will be able to order home test kits for their employees where it is not possible to set up a testing site in the workplace.

With around one in three people with COVID-19 displaying no symptoms, the clinical recommendation is that at least 75% of workers who cannot work from home are tested twice a week, in order to identify asymptomatic cases and reduce the spread of infection.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is providing support for asymptomatic Lateral Flow Device (LFD) testing in England.

Tests are currently being provided free of charge by NHS Test and Trace, and the Government has confirmed that it will continue funding tests until the end of June 2021 for businesses that have registered via the Government’s online portal by 12 April.

Companies now have until Monday 12 April to register for workplace testing and Build UK has produced a guide summarising the process.
