Financial Incentives for Apprentice Recruitment in 2020

Employers in England who recruit thermal insulation apprentices from August 2020 until 31 January 2021 can claim cash incentives:

£2,000 for each apprentice hired aged under 25 and £1,500 for each apprentice hired aged 25 and over.  This incentive is paid directly to the employer – 50% after the apprentice has been on the training programme for 90 days and 50% when the apprentice completes the training programme.

During the last 4 months TICA staff have developed the training programme, in line with the rest of the education sector, and we will be delivering all classroom-based lessons via remote, internet based platforms.  This will reduce the number of weeks apprentices will attend the National Training Centre in Darlington.  Time spent at the training centre will be focussed 100% on practical skills.
