National Apprentice Awards 2018

TICA’s Level 2 Apprentice of the Year is Adam Brophy who works for Brand Energy and Infrastructure. Adam took part in a Skills Test Final alongside 7 of his peers, completing a demanding practical assessment at the National Training Centre earlier in the year. The eight finalists were chosen by the Regional Training Officers and Teaching Staff at TICA. The scoring was based on their practical hand skills, their overall attitude to training and their behaviour and commitment at work.

Adam Brophy came out with the highest overall score and was declared Apprentice of The Year. Throughout his training at TICA and on site Adam demonstrated outstanding skills, a keenness to learn and a professional approach to the trade, which is why he was originally shortlisted. Adam’s skills and commitment to his trade were clearly demonstrated during the test, which earned him the coveted title of Apprentice of the Year 2018. Well done Adam!

Congratulations to all those selected for the skills test:

Adam Brophy – Brand Energy and Infrastructure
Luke Tate – Cape Industrial Services
Christopher Bell – Severn Insulation
William Havelock – E&P Insulation
Rhys Davies – Severn Insulation
Reece Reilly – Wood Group Plc
Jonathan Lewis – Severn Insulation

Our 2018 Level 3 Apprentice of the Year is Glyn Johnson of GR Marine. Glyn is highly thought of both at TICA and on site and his talent, skill, hard work and commitment should be recognised. “Throughout his time at TICA Glyn demonstrated his enthusiasm
for the trade, which was evident in the quality and skill levels he achieved. Always keen to improve, develop and hone his skills, Glyn is a credit to the industry.” says Kevin Fleetham, TICA Craft Instructor. Well done Glyn!
